Franklin County Fire District 3 advocates for levy ahead of November election - KEPR

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. - Leaders from Franklin County Fire District 3 tell us they are hoping voters in the area will approve a $0.30 lid lift, which would raise the fire levy rate to $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed home value.

Three local public safety districts have levy increases on the November ballot. Franklin County Public Hospital District 1, Franklin County Fire District 3 and Walla Walla County Fire District 5 make good cases for more money. We recommend voters approve their requests.

Like many other departments in our area, Franklin County Fire District 3 saw an increase in their call numbers for 2022. Since 2018, their numbers went up by nearly 50 percent, to a record high 804 calls last year. However, funding for FCFD3 is not keeping up.....
