JUNIPER DUNES
Juniper Dunes is open year round and consists of 19,600 acres. This area has some of the largest sand dunes in Washington State. The Juniper Dunes area has three areas that have different regulations that govern its use.
*Wilderness area - Off limits to all motorized and mechanized vehicles
*Open OHV Area - Open for OHV use
*Area of Critical Environmental Concern - OHV limited to trails only (At this time no trails have been established, no OHV allowed within this area)
Franklin 3 provides medical response and initial fire protection to this area. We respond several times a year out to this remote location to rescue injured riders.
AT 232 - Designed for Juniper Dune rescue operations. If injured you will be transported by ATV to a waiting Lifeflight Helicopter.

With limited and rough access in and out of the dunes, injured individuals are transported by ATV to a waiting Lifeflight Helicopter. After being loaded into the helicopter the injured individual will be transported to the nearest trauma center. If the injured person does not know where they are at, Medstar can help in locating the lost person. (Click on this link for information about Life Flight. https://www.lifeflight.org/

OHV Rules
1. Use only DOT approve helmets
2. All OHV must have a bright red or brilliant orange flag at least 48 inches square mounted on a pole a minimum of 108 inches above the ground. The flag needs to be visible from 360 degrees.
3. Current state registration with correct tabs/stickers
