Firefighters with NO certifications are only hired once a year, applications are due no later than October 1st. ​Applications turned in before October 1st will be held until next hiring cycle

Firefighters with certifications or EMT/Paramedic applications are accepted anytime and hiring is conducted year round.

Minimum requirements for becoming a Volunteer Firefighter include:

Complete an accurate application (incomplete applications will not be accepted)

  1. Must be 18 years of age at appointment and eligible to work in the United States
  2. Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  3. Have and maintain an insurable driving record with no more than two traffic violations
  4. Clear criminal history for crimes against people, drugs, and firearms, etc.
  5. Must be and maintain physical fitness for duty and be capable of preforming any required firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical activities
  6. Successfully pass a Washington State Patrol background check
  7. Live within a reasonable response time to district boundaries and/or stations.
  8. Pass a written exam


If at anytime after turning in your application and your personal information (address, phone numbers, or name) change please contact the district office with the change.
