The FCFD#3 was formed by election in 1953. As of 2012 FCFD#3 provides fire protection for approximately 140 square miles surrounding the City of Pasco. The district leadership is made up of three elected commissioners and a full time fire chief. The district employs approximately 35 volunteer responders (firefighters, EMT, and support staff) and 5 full time firefighter/EMTs. Those personnel respond to around 350-400 calls for service a year. The district has a total of six fire stations. At those stations we have a total of 6 wildland engines, 5 fire engines 4 water tenders, 3 command vehicles, 2 rescue units, 1 tractor, 1 ATV, and 1 rehab support unit.
