Do you know that smoke detectors should be replaced after 10 years? If not you are not alone. Most people don't know that a smoke detectors effectiveness begin to deteriorate after 10 years from manufacture.


A smoke detector older than 10 years can be slower to react stealing valuable seconds from you and your family during a fire.


Check all of your smoke detectors (battery or hard wired) and see when they were manufactured.  Replace as needed​.

When replacing an expired smoke detector we recommend a 10 year battery smoke detector. These smoke detectors come with a 10 year lithium battery that cannot be removed.


Now you have a current smoke detector with the benefit of not having to change batteries twice a year!  Just remember to test it once a month!
